Raising the Roof
for Camp Pringle Youth

Camp Pringle—a cherished, community-focused recreational camp—has been serving children, families, and outdoor enthusiasts for over 75 years.

As we continue to provide a safe and welcoming environment for diverse programs and events, we now face a critical need: replacing the aging roof of our main lodge.

The current roof is no longer structurally sound, resulting in water leaks, safety hazards, and increasing maintenance costs. To preserve the integrity of our facilities, ensure the safety of our guests, and sustain the ongoing success of our programs, we are seeking funding for this essential project.

Background and Need

Built in the 1980s, our building’s roof has experienced significant wear over the years. Despite ongoing repairs, it has now reached the end of its lifespan.

Key concerns include:

  • Leaks: Water infiltration during rainstorms has damaged the interior structure and equipment.

  • Energy Inefficiency: The outdated roof lacks proper insulation, increasing heating and cooling costs.

  • Safety Risks: Deteriorating materials have led to weakened sections, posing a hazard to guests and staff.

  • Rising Maintenance Costs: Frequent repairs are becoming more costly and disruptive to camp operations.

Replacing the roof is essential—not only to address these critical issues but also to ensure that our building remains a safe, functional, and welcoming space for campers and visitors for years to come.

Project Goals and Objectives

The primary goal of this project is to replace the roof of Camp Pringle’s Laura Butler Building with a durable, energy-efficient, and weather-resistant roofing system.

The objectives of the project include:

  • 1. Ensure safety and structural integrity: By replacing the roof, we will eliminate the risks posed by leaks and weakened roofing materials.

  • 2. Improve energy efficiency: The new roof will feature modern insulation technology that will reduce energy costs and provide a more comfortable environment for camp participants.

  • 3. Reduce long-term maintenance costs: A new roof will decrease the need for costly repairs and minimize disruptions to camp operations.

  • 4. Extend the lifespan of the building: A new, high-quality roof will protect the camp’s investment and ensure that the facility remains viable for many years to come.
